Pearl Harbor Extravaganza
Learning about World War II history is fascinating for the both of us and something we enjoy doing together. Help us spend a day visiting one of the most famous and intriguing WWII history sites: Pearl Harbor. This gift is truly an extravaganza as we’ll get to visit all of the following:
Arizona Memorial
The USS Arizona is the final resting place for many of the ship's 1,177 crewmen who lost their lives on December 7, 1941. As a special tribute to the ship and her lost crew, the United States flag flies from the flagpole, which is attached to the severed mainmast of the sunken battleship. The USS Arizona Memorial has come to commemorate all military personnel killed in the Pearl Harbor attack. We’ll spend the morning visiting this national memorial and learning about the events that happened here in 1941.

USS Missouri


The “Mighty Mo” was the last battleship built by the United States, and was the site of the surrender of the Empire of Japan which ended World War II. In the Pacific Theater of World War II she fought in the battles of Iwo Jima and Okinawa and shelled the Japanese home islands. The Missouri was the last U.S. battleship to be launched and the last to be decommissioned. We’ll take a tour of the Mighty Mo and explore her history as we continue our Pearl Harbor adventure.

USS Bowfin Submarine Museum and Park
The USS Bowfin was launched on 7 December 1942 and completed nine successful war patrols. We’ll climb aboard the Bowfin and explore this historic WWII submarine while we imagine what life on board must have been like for her 80-man crew. At the museum, we’ll explore the intriguing world of submarines, both past and present.

The Pacific Aviation Museum

We’re not done yet! After visiting the Arizona Memorial, The Mighty Mo, and the Bowfin, we’ll round our Pearl Harbor day off with a different perspective on the Pacific Theater- this time from the air! This museum is located in a sea plane hangar that survived the attack on Pearl Harbor. It has various aircrafts on display, six flight simulators, and exhibits on the great air battles of the Pacific. We will survey the aviation museum thus completing our WWII history day!
