Whale Watching

Category: Big Island

Even though the humpback whales won’t be around this time of the year, there are over six other species of whale that live year round off Hawaii’s coast. We’ll head out early in the morning with a whale researching team to learn about and observe these creatures up close. The trip is three hours of whale watching captained by Dan McSweeney, who has been researching whales for almost 4 decades. We’ll even get to listen underwater to the whales with hydrophones! Neither of us has ever seen a whale in the wild- so this would be an amazing treat!

Kayak Adventure

Category: Big Island

Kealakekua Bay is one of the best areas for snorkeling and kayaking on the big island- calm waters and tons of wildlife make it a great place to spend the afternoon afloat. We’ll rent a double kayak and paddle across the bay to the reef where we’ll do some snorkeling. We’ll spend the afternoon sightseeing from the waves and working together to get cross the 1.5 mile bay to Captain Cook’s Monument. Who knows- we might even paddle with the dolphins!

Kayak Adventure Upgrade

Category: Big Island

This gift will help us enjoy our kayaking even more! We’ll meet our guide at the bay who will help us get the kayak into the water and teach us the basics of kayaking. We’ll then head out with our guide to some special snorkeling spots and to Captain Cooks monument. Then we’ll enjoy the sunset from the water as we paddle back home. Once we get on shore all we have to do is say “Thank you!”- our guide will load our kayaks and take them back to the shop 10 min up the road. This gift may prevent some comical capsizing – but a hassle free afternoon might be worth it!
